Vakvarjú is popular among locals. They serve varied food and their menu changes almost monthly. It is probable that they will have some Hungarian, or Hungarian style dishes, if that is what you are looking for.

As they have locations in the city centre as well, you might combine visiting them with your sightseeing trip of the city centre.

In the evening I recommend you make a reservation, no matter which location you visit, as they may well be booked out.

Kisvigadó Restaurant

 

If you would like to check out where the locals eat out, Kisvigadó Resataurant might be a good choice. This restaurant has been working for decades. It is an institution in the neighbourhood. In the menu you will find typical Hungarian dishes, such as Gulyásleves, Jókai bableves.

In good weather usually you can sit outside:

 

If you walk to the place, it takes 20 minutes from Böcső7, and I recommend the trail that passes by Feneketlen Lake.

 

If you take the tram, the trip will be shorter:

A good coffee and a croisson at Cserpes is just about the best way to start a day.
